We are seeking a Training and Development Intern to join the Human Resources team. The intern will focus on staff learning opportunities, in particular online and distance learning. S/he will research relevant courses for Accion staff, as well as review and improve our internal eLearning platform. In addition, the intern will support efforts to market courses and engage staff in the available opportunities. S/he may also have the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to a broad array of HR projects, including broader professional development, employee engagement, and talent acquisition.

Training and Development

  • Create innovative ways to market online and distance learning courses to an internal audience
  • Collect and upload feedback from staff on professional development opportunities into a central database available for other staff to review
  • Research external learning opportunities, learning trends within the industry, and ongoing professional development opportunities that may be relevant to Accion staff
  • Re-design and update Accion's eLearning platform as needed, in collaboration with the HR Specialist and other HR team members
  • Identify and communicate with Learning Champions (Accion staff members that have demonstrated an interest and commitment to learning)



  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources team including but not limited to assistance with the recruitment process, employee engagement initiatives Based on interest and ability, there may be opportunities to work on and learn about additional projects



Learning Component: This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about Learning and Development and Human Resources, in a global non-profit setting. There will also be additional opportunities to engage with and learn from other staff and participate in internal Accion learning offerings.


  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from an undergraduate program in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications or another relevant area
  • Minimum of one year experience working in an office setting
  • Creative problem solving abilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with WordPress or other online platforms a plus
  • Comfort with engaging with new people and a positive, can-do attitude
