  • Overview

    The budget team at Accion manages and analyzes performance for budgets at Accion. This position will assist in creating budget vs actual reports for Accion’s projects and global budget reporting. This internship position offers an opportunity to learn about a global international development organization and to work closely with the Resource Development department and International Operations departments.

    Responsibilities

    Project & Global Budget Planning & Reporting

    • Produce YTD project and department budget vs actuals reports.
    • Support monthly meetings to discuss budget vs actuals reports with project staff and program heads.
    • Assist with creating templates for project budget forecasting
    • Assist with updating budget template

     

    Deltek Accounting System

    • As needed, create projects for contracts, restricted grants and general overhead in Deltek and Adaptive database.
    • Maintain project modifications in Deltek such as project manager, team members, work breakdown structure, partner, region, etc.
    • Make dormant projects/phases as requested or as contracts end (remove team members, vendors, etc.) within Deltek project database.
    • Complete project related requests (submitted via helpdesk), such as assigning projects to new staff, transferring staff from one department to another, and granting temporary permission to a project as requested by project managers.

     

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate or a graduate student preferably studying finance and data analysis
    • Excellent Excel skills – including pivot tables, VLOOKUP function, data analysis, and data links – and other advanced MS Office application skills.
    • Experience in Finance with focus in budgeting and financial projection management and coordination a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent at multi-tasking with a positive, can-do attitude.
