    Position Summary:

    The Program Coordinator, Center for Financial Inclusion is a temporary, six-month assignment. This position will work primarily within a team led by the Director of Research. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing the 2019 Harvard Business School-Accion Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance and supporting planning of Center for Financial Inclusion’s 10th Anniversary celebration. In addition to project management support, the position requires administrative support work, largely related to events management, fundraising and project reporting.

    Responsibilities

    Harvard Business School-Accion Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance Responsibilities

     

    Process all incoming program applications; manage acceptance and payment process:

    • Maintain all application details in database
    • Confirm receipt of all applications and manage all program inquiries from applicants
    • Maintain list of accepted/rejected/waitlist participants
    • Track program acceptances and fill free spaces as necessary
    • Track deposits and payments for program
    • Work with HBS Executive Education team to ensure that necessary visa letters are sent out in a timely fashion

    Pre-program preparations:

    • Maintain an up-to date status of final participants
    • Assemble a demographical database of all participants for program
    • Work with HBS Executive Education team to finalize pre-program preparations

    Center for Financial Inclusion’s 10th Anniversary Celebration Responsibilities

     

    The candidate will also play an integral role in the preparation for and execution of Center for Financial Inclusion’s 10th Anniversary celebration, with specific responsibilities inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:

    • Support overall planning and logistics for Center for Financial Inclusion’s 10th anniversary to be held on November 1 at the National Press Club
    • Organize and attend regular meetings to discuss event planning progress and issues
    • Draft and manage all invitations and reminders and handle all invitee communications
    • Track and report out on guest registrations and ticket purchases
    • Develop a run-of-show working draft, detailing timeline of events and key elements and players
    • Handle all other duties as necessary to ensure the successful execution of this event

    Qualifications

    • Availability of 35 hours a week from October through the end of April 2019
    • One year of experience with data and correspondence management is helpful
    • Experience with Salesforce, MailChimp, or equivalent CRM is preferred
    • Event management experience is a big plus 
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to correspond with applicants in a professional manner
    • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
    • Excellent at multi-tasking with a positive, can-do attitude
