    Position Summary:

    Reporting to Accion’s Accounting Manager, the Finance Analyst will support the Finance and Accounting team with accounting, analytical, and administrative tasks. The role will require frequent interaction and work with Accion’s global accounting staff in Boston and Bogota as well as interaction with the Investments, Budget, HR and Global Operations departments throughout Accion.  Activities will include accounting related to grants, contracts and investing activity in the U.S., Latin America, Africa and Asia.




    Month-end close and day-to-day accounting:

    • Assist with monthly reconciliations of expense and balance sheet accounts; maintain reconciliation files.
    • Perform various monthly accounting and journal entries; update and maintain fixed assets spreadsheet.
    • Work with Accounts Receivable Manager on invoicing and client management.
    • Assist with audits of grants, retirement plan and annual audit.
    • Perform various excel database updates, and assist with maintaining files and archives.
    • Maintain project modifications in Deltek and Adaptive such as work breakdown structure and employee access.
    • Maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to Project Administration and Adaptive.
    • Coordinate creation of SQL queries to extract data from Deltek for analysis and reporting.
    • Create grant cover sheets for restricted grant awards and circulate to appropriate departments.
    • Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Budget Manager on additional projects as needed.



    • Excellent Excel skills including formulae, macros and pivot tables.
    • Experience with SQL and ERP platforms preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent at multi-tasking with a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Interested in our mission and working globally.
    • Qualified candidate typically has 4 years of relevant experience; finance, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred.
