    We have been growing rapidly and are seeking to strengthen our capacity to deliver exciting new projects, such as the recently announced partnership between Mastercard and Accion to bring digitally enabled financial services to over 10 million micro businesses globally. This role is critical to ensuring the success of the Mastercard-Accion program and other similar activities.





    Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy and Channels, India, the Senior Manager, Asia, Global Advisory Solutions plays an important role at Accion in helping further financial inclusion by contributing to the development of a world-class services organization, delivering high-quality services to support innovative companies. The responsibilities of this function include:


    • Advisory project support:Member of team involved in the end-to end delivery of digital strategies and solutions to partner FSPs with key subject matter suggestions.
      • Specific project work: Support digital transformation work, strategic planning workshops, customer research, product-market-fit assessments, market research for digitally enabled financial services products.
      • Selection & contract negotiations: Assist in the due diligence and software selection process for new software and tools.
      • Pre-implementation: support the creation and execution of pre-implementation plans which include development of business requirements, detailed functional requirements, review of change management business impact, human resources and risks.
      • Implementation and on-going support: Support the implementation of digital solutions to ensure seamless integration into the business (processes, systems, people, etc.) Ensure that adequate support is in place, both internally at the partner level as well as externally at the vendor level, for the on-going maintenance, issue-resolution and future customizations.
      • Post-Implementation Reviews: Support the assessment of a post-implementation review and lead on any findings / recommendations of the same.
    • Regional advisory services business development: Support regional management teams in Asia with business development activities such as proposal writing, creating project plans and ensuring contractual agreements for advisory services.
    • Due diligence:Support Accion’s investment functions with activities including desk research, competitor analysis and business model analysis on an as-needed basis.
    • Partnerships:Working with colleagues, look for linkages where our partners could potentially leverage new innovative models and technologies and benefit from new partner collaborations.
    • Knowledge sharing:Document and share project results (activities, findings, outputs, impact) in the form of sharing knowledge, disseminating useful information & tools, and organizing and delivering learning and exchange opportunities, blogging, articles and/or case studies completed for internal learning and external sector-wide knowledge sharing purposes. Collaborate with Accion’s Communications department.


    Experience Required:

    • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience through a combination of consulting/advisory services with working exposure to financial services, strategy, and hands-on operating experience in challenging contexts.
    • Must have excellent knowledge of current trends in digital financial services as well as hands-on experience of one or more of the following: mobile money, digital payments, digital lending, human centered design for financial services, mobile banking, POS/card payments, agent banking, fintech for financial inclusion.
    • Candidates must have very strong analytical skills across strategy, finance, consumer adoption and especially new channels and technology, but must also have experience planning and implementing.
    • Experience working in India a must and experience working in South East Asia preferred.


    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Passion towards social sector and keenness towards technology-enabled business models.
    • Experience of 2-3 years in a reputed consulting organization or fintech or financial services provider with a focus on digitally enabled financial services for the underserved required.
    • Excellent multi-tasking skills with a positive, can-do attitude and an approach of “no job is too small or big”.
    • Ability to create visually appealing presentations.
    • Experience with develop business plans and financial models desirable.
    • Exceptional written, communication and presentation skills for a variety of audiences; comfort moving seamlessly between executive teams and the field.
    • Ability to study and quickly understand business processes, team dynamics and customer needs.
    • Ability to use different styles to influence individuals and groups and cause impact.

    • Team player and ability to work in semi/un-structured environment
    • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 40%.
    • Excellent project management and people skills, especially in multi-cultural environments.

    • MBA or relevant Master’s level degree required.
    • Written and Spoken English fluency required, French or Spanish a bonus.
