    Position Summary 

     

    Accion’s fundraising team has a strong fundraising track record largely generated through corporate and foundation donors including Mastercard, The MetLife Foundation, Citi Foundation, Credit Suisse, and The Mastercard Foundation, among others. Over the last years, the organization has expanded its resource development strategies targeting more corporate partnerships as well as focusing on public and multi-lateral institutions. The Resource Development Team includes 10 fundraising professionals with expertise in grant-writing, events management, retail fundraising, and communications.

     

    We are currently looking for a Temporary Institutional Partnerships Specialist to work with us for 4 months. Reporting to the Director for Institutional Partnerships, this person will work closely with program staff from the Center for Financial Inclusion, Global Programs, and Venture Lab. This person will build and maintain relationships with current and prospective partners, supporting our efforts to build consensus across programs to help raise over $10 million in institutional funding support annually. This position will aim to build more comprehensive fundraising opportunities on the collective impact of cross departmental initiatives. This position will support the team and the stewardship of current donors while researching new prospects, helping to secure meetings, and assisting in the development of concept notes, proposals, and reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Working within the institutional partnerships team, support and coordinate activities to support or goal to raise more than our current $6- $8 million in institutional funding annually for Accion programs;
    • Administer tools and processes (e.g. pipeline monitoring, action tracking, relationship mapping, reporting mechanisms, etc.) for key partner collaboration;
    • Support the fielding of new partnership enquiries in consultation with the appropriate ResDev staff and other staff across Accion;
    • In conjunction with the Director for Institutional Partnerships, research and deep dive into prospects and program opportunities to support fundraising;
    • Support the development of presentations and materials for meetings with key partners, to use with new prospects, and to support reporting and stewardship activities;
    • Coordinate collaboration across program teams, communications, the executive office, and resource development around developing key relationships and maximizing fundraising and visibility opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required;
    • Generally 4 years experience with1-2 years of experience managing key relationships and writing grant proposals;
    • Familiarity with the financial inclusion landscape and funding trends;
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to maximize teamwork;
    • Superior writing and editing skills, including an ability to convey complex topics in language accessible to a full range of donor;
    • Meticulous in producing quality work within tight time constraints;
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
    • Demonstrated capacity to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong interpersonal and team skills;
    • Ability to communicate with and coordinate efforts of culturally and geographically diverse staff to meet deadlines;
