The Specialist will support a well-respected organization that combines a 55-year history of success building microfinance institutions with innovative impact investing to ensure a world with access to economic opportunity for all. Currently, our work spans nearly two dozen countries, including the U.S., where we are the nation’s largest nonprofit microfinance network.
Reporting to the Director for Institutional Partnerships, the Specialist is responsible for providing critical support to the Institutional Partnerships Team in various capacities. S/He will work directly with the Resource Development relationship managers and with program teams to stay up to date on program progress in order to track grant deliverables and share updates with current and prospective funders. S/He will oversee the donor proposal and reporting schedules, help organize donor and prospect meetings, support the execution of strategic collaboration across the organization to maximize partner engagement and support the department’s overall goal of raising more than $10 million per year. The candidate will also support the preparation of donor reports and assist in the development of concept notes and proposals. The ideal candidate will have a background in financial inclusion and a curiosity and willingness to deepen that understanding through collaboration across Accion.
The candidate will also support the Resource Development team’s need for background information and biographical profiles for both institutional and individual prospects, with a goal of finding and stewarding relationships, ultimately converting them to donors. S/He will also support the general day to day work of the department to ensure a highly effective, team oriented fundraising function, including but not limited to team meeting agendas and quarterly management reports.
This individual should demonstrate the ability to prioritize responsibilities, produce high quality writing, the skills to analyze and synthesize accomplishments and donor requirements, and possess the curiosity and passion to learn and grow their writing, research, analytical, and overall fundraising skills. The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy. S/He must be highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
