    We’re looking for a Digital Content Manager to help tell our story.

     

     

    Position Summary 

     

    The Digital Content Manager will play an essential role on our Communications team, working to raise Accion’s profile in the fields of impact investing, financial inclusion, and fintech. This position will work across our teams and with external partners to ensure that Accion’s digital content is thoughtfully created and promoted so it can inspire and inform key audiences about our work and support Accion’s mission of building a financially inclusive world.

     

    The ideal candidate has developed and executed a multiplatform content strategy for a global organization, preferably one with a focus on startups, financial technology, or international development. Experience coordinating across teams and managing the work of freelance consultants is essential.

     

    The position will report to the Director of Digital Communications and is based in Washington DC.

    Responsibilities

    Editing and Writing

    • Commission, write, and edit articles on behalf of Accion and/or staff, including impact stories and industry-facing thought leadership pieces based on the work of our program teams
    • Develop email marketing messages and strategy, in coordination with Accion’s Resource Development team

    Social Media

    • Plan, write, and publish compelling content related to financial inclusion and fintech for Accion’s global social media accounts
    • Lead social media strategy and planning
    • Be responsible for social listening and engagement
    • Drive employee engagement efforts on social media
    • Record and use analytics data to inform strategy
    • Plan and execute paid advertising campaigns

    Management

    • Own the digital editorial process for the organization, acting as liaison between Communications and department leads to coordinating content and promotional opportunities
    • Lead cross-platform digital marketing projects for the organization around events, publications, and other key moments
    • Manage visual asset needs for web, social, and email
    • Manage content partnerships with corporate partners and portfolio companies
    • Develop and execute work plans for digital communications projects
    • Maintain communications content calendar, covering organizational blogs, external articles, events, and announcements
    • Manage freelance writers, photographers, videographers, and design resources as needed
    • Other duties as appropriate.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Proven track record of developing articles and social media content that builds audience engagement
    • Skilled at explaining complex concepts in accessible language
    • Strong understanding of — and experience leveraging — digital analytics and insights to inform audience engagement and content decisions
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
    • Generally 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree
    • Spanish fluency strongly preferred
    • Deep interest in international development and in our mission
    • International development or financial services industry background preferred
    • Experience with multimedia production or web design is a plus
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
    • Willingness to travel internationally up to 15% of the time
