    Position Summary:

     

    Accion is seeking a highly motivated Organizational Development & Learning Specialist to support the implementation of high-quality organizational development initiatives and programs for Accion’s staff globally. Key responsibilities include project management of the professional development funds program and employee engagement initiatives, as well as support of larger programs such as performance management.  The Learning & Organizational Specialist is a key member of Accion’s Human Resources department, responsible for internal team collaboration, as well as cross-departmental communication and promotion of Accion’s values.

    Responsibilities

    Professional Development & Staff Learning

    • Project manage professional development funds program, acting as the primary HR point of contact for staff regarding the program
    • Identify and market relevant virtual and in-person professional and career development opportunities to staff
    • Coordinate internal learning opportunities, including collaboration with external facilitators as necessary, and the implementation of semi-annual “Learning at Accion” weeks
    • Assist with program logistics for Accion-sponsored staff learning opportunities

     

    Organizational Effectiveness & Employee Engagement

    • Manage Accion’s internal Mentor Program
    • Support the performance feedback and planning process, including creating communication materials, staff training, and ensuring the system is up-to-date
    • Propose and implement initiatives fostering high staff morale across the organization
    • Manage special events and special projects as needed (ex: happy hours, holiday celebrations, learning lunches, work-life balance initiatives)
    • Support diversity, equity and inclusion work
    • Support all other Organizational Development projects

     

    HR Team Support and Communications

    • Communicate with representatives from other departments on behalf of Human Resources and provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department as needed
    • Ensure collaboration and frequent communication within the HR team, including planning semi-monthly meetings and an annual retreat
    • Market the HR team’s work to the organization through creative initiatives
    • Manage the Human Resources presence on the Accion Intranet
    • Assist the Head of HR with administrative tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • Three years’ work experience
    • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
    • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, strong attention to detail
    • Strong oral and written skills
    • Fluency in English required, proficiency in Spanish (oral and written) highly desired
    • Ability to take initiative and think strategically
    • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required
    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
