Position Summary 


We are currently recruiting a Global Insights and Marketing Intern to support GLAS’s Marketing function. This unique role requires a diverse skill set, spanning digital marketing, research, superior writing skills, and knowledge of cutting-edge innovation and technology in financial inclusion. Successful candidates will help to develop creative marketing strategies, lead story framing, information gathering/synthesis, analysis, and production of thought leadership pieces (i.e., blogs, case studies, and webinars) on topics such as digital transformation and human centered design, with the aim of promoting GLAS’s work with the industry.


This position is remotely based at this time as all Accion offices are closed due to COVID-19. The length of this internship position is minimum 10 weeks, with the option for part-time work in the spring or fall. The target start date is May 31, 2021.





  • Provide writing and marketing assistance for a wide range of marketing and content strategies that support growth initiatives: such as demand generation and nurturing campaigns.
  • Develop thought pieces, blogs, case studies, webinars, public relations and other modes of information. dissemination to maximize demonstration effects, showcase lessons learned and build our brand as a thought leader in the space.
  • Support marketing activities through campaign tracking, reporting, and analysis of key metrics.
  • Collaborate with global advisory team and provide project support as requested.

Working with Accion’s Global Advisory Solutions team will provide a deeper understanding and first-hand exposure to Accion’s 55+ years of institutional knowledge through technical tools, resources, and materials focused on financial inclusion topics and trends in the industry. The Accion Global Insights and Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to shape the team’s marketing strategy, author blogs and papers and work closely with industry experts passionate about working toward a more financially inclusive and interconnected world.



  • Currently enrolled in an MBA or similar advanced degree program (including international development, international relations, or communications degrees)
  • Generally 3+ years of professional experience
  • Ability to clearly communicate visually and verbally to a variety of audiences (e.g., external, executive, commercial, and philanthropic)
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and passion for market-based solutions to poverty
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Exceptional written, communication and presentation skills; comfortable working independently and confident to query senior managers

  • Domain expertise in financial services and/or financial inclusion, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, human-centered design and/or behavioral economics
  • Knowledge of marketing tools and techniques, as well as the nuances and effectiveness of varied marketing tactics
  • Language skills beyond English, Spanish preferred
