Position Summary 

 

The Communications Associate plays a key role in optimizing the impact of CFI’s research and policy influence work across four main areas of responsibility: communications and outreach, event management, operations, and organizational culture. The position offers a great opportunity for candidates eager to learn more about strategic communications for a global organization focused on international development.

 

Responsibilities

Communications and outreach

  • Support CFI outreach activities, including writing social media posts (for approval), posting on CFI’s social media channels, and drafting newsletters
  • Support management of the CFI website by helping to identify and test enhancements and bug fixes in coordination with Accion’s communications team
  • Lead CFI’s engagement reporting, including website and social media analytics
  • Create digital graphics for CFI’s website and events

 

Event management

  • Help coordinate the logistics of virtual and in-person meetings and events, including for example, promotions, speaker coordination, registration, and basic IT support during webinars

 

Operations

  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of key communications resources for CFI (templates, logos, photography, videos, etc.)
  • Support project administration for CFI Communications Team
  • Lead administrative support relating to general technology management (domain registrations, contract management, account provisioning, etc.)

 

Organizational culture (includes mindsets and behaviors)

  • Actively participate in a culture in which all staff: 1) reach their full potential as learners, unorthodox researchers, and thought leaders 2) work effectively with each other by sharing ideas, brainstorming, and co-developing knowledge products 3) feel accountable for results and impact and 4) strive and achieve excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of digital analytics and insights, including Google Analytics
  • Skilled at creating graphic design content using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Demonstrated interest in international development and in our mission
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.
  • This job may require travel on an occasional basis (<10%).
