Accion's Global Advisory Solutions (GLAS) team is recruiting for an HBCU Fellow.  As an HBCU Fellow, you will join an innovative global advisory team that works closely with financial institutions around the world serving small businesses and low-income households. In this twelve-week, full time position, the HBCU Fellow will focus their time supporting innovative customer understanding initiatives as well as business development efforts, which might include market or company research, proposal, or collateral creation.  This full time position is part of a hard-working, dedicated, and collaborative team, and is well suited to students who are looking to gain the experience of working with a fast paced, global and mission focused advisory team.

Position responsibilities:

  • Support development of tools for financial institutions to better understand customer engagement.
  • Research key customer challenges / barriers and engagement solutions.
  • Support the development of processes that institutions can use to diagnose adoption barriers, including the linkage to solutions.
  • Collate relevant resources, tools, and outputs across GLAS as they relate to each engagement solution.
  • Prepare a framework or matrix through which all the content (customer barriers, solutions, resources / tools, etc.) can be organized and absorbed by an external audience.
  • Liaise with team members across project teams and other capability groups to share progress as needed.
  • Provide administrative and/or operational support as needed.
  • Support business development activities as needed.

  

Position qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a historically black college or university (HBCU)
  • Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree program, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or a related .
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, track assignments and provide support to colleagues.
  • Strong professional communication skills and ability to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Salesforce also welcome.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for entrepreneurship and market-based solutions to poverty.
  • Excellent at multi-tasking with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.
  • Willingness to embody our values of excellence, respect and passion for social change.
