About Global Advisory Solutions (GLAS):

Working closely with the MD and our regional managers, you will be a key supportive team member for the GLAS leadership and collaborate with co-workers who are industry experts with diverse backgrounds, being part of a team that is shaping and challenging the industry. You will work to support our global program management efforts; lead our internal communications initiatives and collaborate with other teams to support external communications; oversee board and management reporting; contribute to industry engagements and GLAS thought-leadership efforts.

 

Position Summary 

This position reports directly into the Managing Director (MD) of the Global Advisory Solutions (GLAS) team and is a key part in creating an environment that is supportive, operates smoothly, meets its commitments and stays on track to meeting the departments goals.  Based in Washington, D.C. this position will support and develop strategies for communication and knowledge sharing and play a facilitator role within the GLAS leadership team. This position is essential in the administration and effectiveness of the team.

 

Working closely with the GLAS leadership team, you will also support key department-wide initiatives each year, ensuring high-quality project execution and ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.

   

Position Responsibilities 

In this position you will need excellent project management skills and be comfortable working across regions and functions. We will expect you to use your analytical skills, be a proactive problem solver and take ownership of your work. As the Program Management and Operations Specialist, you will:

  • Work with the MD, developing and supporting strategies for improving department operations.
  • Support the preparation and management of annual department budget.
  • Organize team meetings and retreats.
  • Support our global program management efforts and the development of standard project management resources.
  • Support the GLAS performance metrics work.
  • Oversee onboarding process for new GLAS team members.
  • Facilitate our departmental internal and external reporting.
  • Serve as point person for external strategic communications and collateral.
  • Manage and grow our internal knowledge management efforts.
  • Contribute to our client and industry engagement by supporting thought leadership efforts, content development, and desk research.
  • Provide administrative support to the MD as needed.
  • May require travel for project support, as needed

  

Position Qualifications 

  • Aptitude for interacting effectively with a variety of people at all levels, internally and externally, in an international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and exercise discretion.
  • Highly organized, and strong attention to detail; excellent project management and event planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written.
  • Entrepreneurially minded; ability to work independently and proactively, and as a part of a highly collaborative team; quick learner; receptive and responsive to feedback.
  • Professional-level fluency in English required; additional language skills highly desirable (preferable Spanish and/or French).
  • Knowledge of/experience in virtual systems and tools a plus (e.g. Microsoft 365, Survey Monkey, Salesforce, Wrike).
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Generally, 2+ years of relevant experience, business operations, project management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., economics, business, international development)
