About Center for Financial Inclusion:

The Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) team is driven by our vision of a world where all people are able to use financial services and participate in the economy to improve their lives and prosper. We are looking for colleagues who share our passion to join us on the journey.


We are a small, passionate team making an outsized impact by conducting rigorous research, testing promising solutions, and advocating for evidence-based change. Last year, we published nearly 50 knowledge products and tallied impressive audience gains on social media and the CFI website. We also host several events, including Financial Inclusion Week (FIW), our flagship annual virtual gathering for the global financial inclusion community. In 2022, FIW featured almost 400 speakers and over 3,300 registered participants—representing 2,000 organizations and 146 countries. CFI also leads the Responsible Finance Forum, which hosts several global events each year on responsible finance and consumer protection.


Position Summary 

This is a new position on CFI’s communications team and an exciting opportunity to help expand CFI’s visibility. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent editorial judgement, and a creative mindset to help shape our communications and advocacy work. Our ideal candidate is inspired by our mission and making a difference in the world, comfortable working on all aspects of communications for an organization, and excited to roll up their sleeves to toggle between a variety of roles—ranging from copywriter to communications outreach campaign manager to publications coordinator. We offer the opportunity to learn and grow across all facets of nonprofit communications while contributing to a nimble and fast-moving team.


Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the CFI blog, including developing a pipeline of blog posts, facilitating content development by researchers, and ensuring all blog posts adhere to our quality and branding standards.
  • Project manage outreach campaigns and write supporting copy, such as website content, marketing collateral, and talking points.
  • Maintain internal communications content calendar, covering all knowledge products, events, speaking engagements, and announcements.
  • Oversee the knowledge development process after reports and briefs have been reviewed and finalized and serve as primary liaison with contracted editorial services (copyediting, graphics development, and formatting and layout).
  • Facilitate ongoing enhancements and strategic projects for CFI’s website, working closely with the web developer and key internal stakeholders.


Position Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A skilled writer and editor, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs on a deadline.
  • A strong project manager and expert at getting things done in fast-paced and quickly evolving environments.
  • A detail-oriented and meticulous professional, driven by a passion for communications excellence and social change.
  • An experienced professional with at least 5 years of relevant full-time work, including several years of experience in communications, and has a Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or related field.
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.
  • Willingness to embody our values of excellence, respect and passion for social change.
