About Center for Financial Inclusion:

The Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) team is driven by our vision of a world where all people are able to use financial services and participate in the economy to improve their lives and prosper. We are looking for colleagues who share our passion to join us on the journey.

We are a small, passionate team making an outsized impact by leveraging partnerships to conduct rigorous research, test promising solutions, and advocate for evidence-based change. Last year, we published almost 50 knowledge products and tallied impressive audience gains on social media and the CFI website. We also host several events, including Financial Inclusion Week, our flagship annual virtual gathering for the global financial inclusion community, which in 2021 featured 340 speakers and 3,100 registered participants—representing 1,600+ organizations and 138 countries.

We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail, who enjoys taking complex content and distilling it into messages that resonate with our audiences, and who takes pride in consistently delivering exceptional-quality work in a fast-paced environment. This is a new position and an exciting opportunity to help expand CFI’s visibility at a critical time in inclusive finance.

  • Create content and outreach campaigns, including website copy, collateral, talking points, and key messages.
  • Support projects and operations of the communications team by anticipating needs, driving results, and proposing solutions to complex issues.
  • Ensure all communications materials and messaging comply with brand guidelines and best practices, and that all content is professional and consistent with CFI’s voice and tone.
  • Facilitate ongoing enhancements and strategic projects for CFI’s website, working closely with the web developer and key internal stakeholders.

Position Qualifications

  • A great writer and editor, with a track record of producing high-quality content on a deadline.
  • A detail-oriented and meticulous professional, driven by a passion for communications excellence and social change.
  • An expert at getting things done in fast-paced and quickly evolving environments.
  • Experienced with at least 5 years of relevant work in communications and a Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or related field.
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.
  • Willingness to embody our values of excellence, respect and passion for social change.

    • Respect: Accion staff should value one another’s roles and responsibilities as much as their own, be encouraging, and value the diverse and unique perspectives of colleagues. They should honor obligations and commitments to each other and to external partners.
    • Passion for Social Change: Accion staff should be committed to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate, value the greater good of the organization over personal gain, and promote a productive workplace by acknowledging the accomplishments of others.
