Accion’s Resource Development department has a solid track record of creative partnerships, strategic fundraising, and proven results. We work across a broad base of corporate and private foundation partners including Mastercard, Credit Suisse, FMO, Bill and Melinda Gates, MetLife, and Citi Foundations. In addition, we work with individual impact investors, philanthropic donors, and the public sector to carry out our important and increasingly urgent mission. Building on the existing strong base of supporters and partners, we aim to amplify our strategic partnership priorities.

 

Position Summary 

The Resource Development (RD) team is seeking a Graduate Intern for the fall with strong research, business intelligence/analytics, marketing skills, knowledge of data visualization tools and project management experience. The Intern will work closely with the Resource Development team to support our knowledge management as it pertains to funders and key partnerships and develop fact sheets for external use with key stakeholders. The Intern will also be key in the creation of funder profiles and engagement strategies for high priority prospects and partners.  

   

Position Responsibilities

  • Supporting the RD team in market research, landscape analyses for priority geographies and sectors to better understand partnership, funding, economic and development trends
  • Contributing to the creation of funder profiles and engagement strategies for the RD team’s top prospects
  • Support in the development of a partnership matrix to improve our analysis of prospective partners for public sector, especially USAID, opportunities.
  • Analyze funding trends using sources like Devex, Lexis Nexis to collate insights from research and data analytics about current and future initiatives and opportunities that would be relevant for Accion
  • Create fact sheets for Accion’s work across different thematic areas and geographies, working across the private sector and institutional partnerships team in Resource Development
  • Support data visualization (Power BI) projects related to Salesforce CRM data

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant graduate degree program (international relations, business management/MBA, non-profit management, economic development, marketing/communications)
  • Experience with market research and/or business intelligence gathering and analysis
  • Project management
  • Strong research, data analytics, data visualization skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate visually and verbally to a variety of audiences (e.g., external, internal, and philanthropic).
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Willingness to embody Accion’s values of Excellence, Respect and Passion for Social Change
  • Previous experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce), data visualization tools (Power BI) preferred
  • Experience working with fundraising teams and in particular, knowledge of corporations and private foundations is preferred
