Position Summary:

The Human Resources team is seeking a summer intern with the desire to learn various facets of human resources. The intern will gain experience in multiple HR disciplines such as Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and Operations. They will work closely with HR Leads in defining a framework for internship programs, assist with employee engagement activities such as our wellness program, and become familiar with applicant tracking and employee information systems (HRIS). The HR Intern must have excellent communication skills, flexibility, attention to detail, a friendly disposition, and the ability to function as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team.

 

As a Human Resources Intern, you will be working closely with our HR team who will provide hands-on projects and daily tasks. There will be daily exposure to HR processes, programs, systems, and overall People & Culture initiatives. Interns will be able to apply classroom-based knowledge to projects and gain essential skills needed to be career ready.

 

Period of internship: June – August 2023, dates flexible.

 

Learning Component/Benefits:

Working with Accion’s Human Resources team will help further develop skills in various disciplines of HR, while gaining a deeper understanding of Accion’s role in creating a financially inclusive world. Interns will be exposed to both daily tasks as well as projects within a professional work environment.

   

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR project support by researching HR best practices and contributing to the development of tools, resources, and presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of formal documentation and development of HR procedures and processes.
  • Support and contribute to the development of templates and research of digital applications to streamline HR communications.
  • Participate in project frameworks with research, presentations, developing networks, etc.

  

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum Junior or Senior working towards an Undergraduate Degree or Graduate student in an accredited college or university, majoring in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; GPA: 3.0 or above.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaboratively within our team environment.
  • Educational exposure and interest in multiple human resource disciplines including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, employee relations, organizational development, immigration, performance management, federal and state employment laws.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work proactively with other team members.
  • Detail-oriented, strong analytic skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Quality time management skills.
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.
