About Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI):

The Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) team is driven by our vision of a world where all people are able to use financial services and participate in the economy to improve their lives and prosper. We are looking for colleagues who share our passion to join us on the journey.

 

We are a small, passionate team making an outsized impact by leveraging partnerships to conduct rigorous research, test promising solutions, and advocate for evidence-based change. Last year, we published nearly 50 knowledge products and tallied impressive audience gains on social media and the CFI website. We also host several events, including Financial Inclusion Week (FIW), our flagship annual virtual gathering for the global financial inclusion community, which in 2022 featured almost 400 speakers and over 3,300 registered participants—representing 2,000 organizations and 146 countries. CFI also is the convenor of the Responsible Finance Forum (RFF), which brings global leaders together to discuss responsible finance and consumer protection. Position Summary 

CFI is looking for a Communications Coordinator to provide communications and operational support to our team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is inspired by our mission and making a difference in the world, comfortable working on all aspects of communications for an organization, and excited to roll up their sleeves. This is a new position and an exciting opportunity for candidates eager to learn more about strategic communications for a global organization focused on international development, and to help expand CFI’s visibility at a critical time in inclusive finance.

   

Position Responsibilities 

CFI Communications Support (70%)

Project Coordination

  • Support with distribution plans for CFI publications, blog posts, website updates, press releases, and other external communications.
  • Maintain CFI’s internal content calendar for knowledge products, events, speaking engagements, and announcements.

Communications Materials 

  • Assist the CFI communications team in creating internal and external communication materials.
  • Format presentations and documents. Source photos for publications and the website. Perform copy-editing and proofreading.
  • Standardize documents and materials, such as project summaries and staff bios for proposals.

Communications Analytics 

  • Generate quarterly reports showing website and social media analytics trends.
  • Collaborate with the measurement and evaluation team to gather communication metrics for assessing CFI's impact.

Social Media Monitoring 

  • Monitor social channels for content related to or relevant for CFI to help flag areas of opportunity for CFI.

Event Support 

  • Provide hands-on assistance for both in-person and virtual events, including Financial Inclusion Week (FIW) and Responsible Finance Forum (RFF) gatherings.
  • Offer technical support for Zoom and other streaming platforms.
  • Assist with event logistics and details.

CFI Team Coordination (30%)

Meeting Coordination

  • Plan and schedule meetings for CFI staff and Advisory Council members, including staff meetings, team retreats, steering committee meetings, and quarterly AC meetings. Responsible for meeting notetaking and team calendar maintenance.

Operation

  • Manage CFI team subscriptions inventory, provide budget support, maintain CFI's intranet page, and oversee CFI swag and holiday/thank you cards for stakeholders.

Other duties to be assigned as appropriate.
