More at http://www.accion.org    About the Legal Department Accion’s Legal Department manages all aspects of Accion’s Legal, Compliance and Risk Programs. Working closely with each department, the Legal Department plays a critical role in ensuring that Accion’s mission advances, its goals are met, and projects are successful by combining experienced counsel with strong business sensibilities.   Position Summary  Accion is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join the Legal Department and provide day-to-day legal advice and counsel to stakeholders throughout the organization on a wide variety of legal issues. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel will be able to provide support in non-profit legal matters, contract drafting and negotiation, charitable solicitations and corporate filings, employment, corporate governance, intellectual property, and other areas relevant to Accion’s global operations and activities.   In addition, the Assistant General Counsel will assist the Deputy General Counsel with the operational aspects of the organization’s Risk Management Program. The Assistant General Counsel will also be responsible for assisting with the organization’s compliance-related activities, including global sanctions (OFAC) and anti-money laundering/counter terrorist financing (AML/CTF) screenings support and analysis, and the development, review and training on policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have experience in cross-border contracting and legal/regulatory risks, engaging with local counsel in various markets, and assisting colleagues at headquarters and in country offices.     Washington D.C. hybrid OR Remote position in Eastern or Central time zone.

About Accion Advisory:   Accion Advisory partners with a wide range of partners (e.g. financial service providers, corporates, Fintechs, etc) around the globe to better meet the financial and other needs of undeserved individuals and small businesses.  Leveraging innovations in technology and financial services, we provide strategic operational support to our partners to help them remain the providers of choice in their dynamic markets.      Position Summary    This position will work closely with the Managing Director (MD) on developing engaging collateral and presentations, supporting, and improving operational processes for the Advisory team, and planning and supporting team gatherings, also supporting the new business proposal process and technical initiatives. This position will support and develop strategies for communication, talent, and knowledge sharing and play a facilitator role within the Accion Advisory leadership team. Accion Advisory is looking for a candidate who has a good understanding of inclusive finance as well as the broader consulting landscape. The candidate must be exceptionally organized and able to complete tasks with limited guidance, share knowledge and expertise with the team, and develop and evaluate systems for tracking Accion Advisory activities. The individual must have strong communication skills, excellent writing skills and have the desire to learn and improve project management skills. The candidate must be a strategic thinker, understand the consulting ecosystem and have some experience pushing forward project objectives. Since this position will be working on sensitive matters closely with the Managing Director, her leadership team and high-level stakeholders, they must have a superior political acumen, strong sense of discretion and good judgement. They must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to juggle competing priorities. As a small organization, the candidate is expected to be a team player and contribute to evolving agendas.   This position will report into the Managing Director, Accion Advisory and participate in departmental meetings, be involved in planning, and coordinate closely with all teams across Accion Advisory and Accion.

The Associate assesses how organizations are performing and helps them improve their products, processes and systems. He / She conducts research and analysis to come up with solutions to business problems and helps to introduce these solutions to businesses and their clients. The Associate works under the direction of the Senior Director to define the approach and implementation of the prioritized areas of support, create the roadmap and solution portfolio based on problem statements and industry trends, ensure the optimization and standardization of the implementation of new products and services, and create a formalized approach for knowledge management.   Location for this position: Mumbai, India

As an Associate, you will work on projects that aim to enhance customers' financial inclusion and resilience along the Agri-value chain. You will help our clients, mainly financial service providers serving smallholder farmers and agribusinesses, to design and implement customer-centric financial products and services that address their needs and preferences. You will also collaborate with various Agri-value chain stakeholders, such as Agritech, platforms, aggregators, input suppliers, processors, and buyers, to understand their pain points, opportunities, and solutions. You will support the Agriculture Practice Lead and other team members in developing Accion's strategy in the Agri-practice area, which includes conducting market research, building partnerships, developing knowledge products, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting proposal development.    Location: Mumbai, India

The Associate will work under the Senior Director's direction and will be responsible for strategic partner and program management for initiatives with external partners. The partners include Financial Services Providers, Startups, Industry Bodies, and other financial services or product development organizations. The Accion Advisory team has prioritized Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) as one of the strategic areas. We are exploring the potential of DPIs such as Account Aggregator (AA) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to build new financial products with the help of partners. The Associate will play an important role in identifying such partners and managing the relationships as part of our current projects and business development efforts.

More at https://www.accion.org.   Position Summary  Accion seeks an experienced, strong and effective Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will provide strategic and daily financial leadership to a global organization that continues to drive innovation in the financial inclusion industry.   Accion has grown in complexity over the last few years and is projected to continue to do so. In addition to increasing strategic complexity, the organization has the responsibility of integrating and operating multiple entities and subsidiaries across multiple geographies, including Accion Impact Management (AIM), an SEC Registered Investment Advisor, created to manage impact investment funds with third party investors.    This increasing scope, combined with multiple investment fund considerations and the exploration of new business models, means that there will be a greater need to assess strategic considerations, determine appropriate structuring, and evaluate the accounting and tax implications. The CFO will ensure proper financial systems, processes and controls, and financial integrity through appropriate management, planning, accounting and financial reporting, audit, and control/compliance.   The Chief Financial Officer will be a member of Accion’s senior leadership team and report to Accion’s President and CEO; they will liaise closely with the Finance & Audit Committee.

The end users of Ovante are microentrepreneurs who can access the platform directly from their cellphone or desktop. The platform consists of 17different topics around managerial, financial, and digital skill building and guides its users through the different course contents, introducing incentives for them to finish each topic, and providing them with tools to apply concepts learned on Ovante in their day-to-day businesses.   Ovante aims to not only provide business concepts once, but to maintain an ongoing dialogue with entrepreneurs to support the evolution of their businesses and help guide them in accessing financial services from which they could benefit. Ovante help users to have easier access to credit by providing financial services providers with alternative data that can be used to complement a credit assessment and increase the chances of Ovante´s users to get a loan.   Project Summary Engage 100,000 MSMEs (micro, small, and medium businesses) to use Ovante through a collaborative approach with strategic partners in Mexico.

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing creative employee learning programs and engagement strategies to support organizational priorities. The Director also leads Accion’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Committee and has a unique opportunity to influence organizational culture and champion practices that make Accion a diverse, equitable and inclusive place to work.   This position reports to the Chief Talent Officer and is a key member of our Human Resources (HR) team.
