We are a diverse and close-knit global team with one common social purpose: building a financially inclusive world for small businesses and low-income households.  We are passionate about what we do – working with a wide range of financial service providers and other partners across the world to build sustainable businesses to achieve financial inclusion.  We enjoy solving problems, being exposed to new ideas, sharing information, and asking, “what if?” In this position the Accion Advisory team is seeking an Associate, Data, Operations and Technology who is passionate about financial inclusion and delivery of financial products to underserved customers and the digital transformation of organizations that serve these customers.

 

Position Summary 

This position reports to the Senior Director, Operations and Technology, in the Accion Advisory  team. The Associate assesses how organizations are performing and helps them improve their products, processes and systems. He / She conducts research and analysis to come up with solutions to business problems and helps to introduce these solutions to businesses and their clients. The Associate works under the direction of the Senior Director to define the approach and implementation of the prioritized areas of support, create the roadmap and solution portfolio based on problem statements and industry trends, ensure the optimization and standardization of the implementation of new products and services, and create a formalized approach for knowledge management.

Position Responsibilities

  • Understanding business needs as they relate to a potential change or transformation.
  • Gathering, identifying, and documenting business requirements.
  • Explaining technical jargon to non-technical teams.
  • Simplifying requirements, so they are easily understood across the whole team.
  • Business process modelling and improving business processes.
  • Identifying costs and business savings.
  • Implementing, testing, and deploying solutions to business problems.
  • Supporting business transition and helping to establish change.
  • Creating functional specifications for new systems and processes.
  • Designing and implementing data management solutions and analytics
  • Acting as an advisor to senior managers and executive teams.

  

Position Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5-7 years of experience or in a related area.
  • Able to discuss the benefits of Strategic Use of Data, Data Management and Advanced Analytics
  • Ability to conduct data quality checks and analyze complex data to generate insights.
  • Ability to use advanced excel tools, basic understanding of at least one querying language like SQL, and statistical tools like SPSS.
  • Ability to use at least one visualization tool like Power BI /Tableau.
  • Basic knowledge of implementation and configuration of enterprise systems
  • Willingness to learn about the developments in fintech and financial inclusion
  • Ability to create visually appealing
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary.
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies.
  • Excellent project and people skills, especially in multi-cultural
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in Spanish and/or French a bonus.
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.

Travel

  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 50% possible)
