Position Summary
The Communications Specialist/Writer reports to Accion’s Chief Communications Officer and is responsible for overseeing a content production timeline and delivering a range of fundraising collateral in support of Accion’s retail giving program. The Specialist is expected to deliver engaging, people-focused written content to motivate new and existing donors to support Accion’s work.
The Specialist will work across the Communications Team and network across the organization to identify programs and people that best reflect Accion’s work for retail donors. They will provide input into the look and feel of all retail giving products, working closely with other members of the team that have specialist design skills.
The Specialist will also provide expert writing and editing support for other areas of Accion’s positioning strategy, writing articles and texts for the website and other channels.
Preferred location: Washington, D.C., but open to remote across the U.S.

Travel Requirements
Some domestic and international travel may be required with this position. Travel is expected to make up less than 10% of the work time. If the successful candidate is not based in the Washington D.C. area, they will be expected to spend a few days each quarter in the D.C. office.
