More at http://www.accion.org.        Duration: 6 months with potential renewal Part-time, 15-20 hours a week   Project dates: Fall through Spring semester   Position Summary: Accion International is seeking a Legal Intern who will be responsible for assisting in-house legal staff in the following: drafting and negotiating contracts, researching employment law matters, assisting in the provision of advice to internal clients, and for providing general support to the Legal Department in areas of law as needed.  The Legal Intern would also be responsible for certain compliance-related tasks regarding the development and maintenance of, and training on, organizational policies and procedures. The ideal candidate would be looking to gain legal and compliance experience within the context of international development and financial inclusion and would have the ability to manage multiple projects with urgent deadlines with a sense of humor.   Remote opportunity.

More at http://www.accion.org.    Position Summary   The Accion Global Advisory Solutions team is seeking a Manager, Payments for the Northern Triangle (NT) countries of Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador to lead strategic projects in the region as part of our work with the Partnership for Central America (PCA). PCA is a multi-national coalition of private organizations in collaboration with governments, non-profit groups, and private philanthropy to mobilize and coordinate private investments to help ensure those investments have a measurable and sustained impact on the people of Northern Central America for a better life in their homeland.   The candidate should be passionate about re-imagining the delivery of financial products to underserved customers in the region, working closely with Small Holder Farmers, micro merchants, and gig workers. The successful candidate will take the lead in the conceptualization, design, and consequent implementation of innovative, scalable and fit-for-purpose financial products that respond to customer needs, such as payment solutions, digital wallets, e-commerce platforms, credit, and savings solutions, that meet the needs of the strategic segments in the region.   The person in this role will be the focal point for the delivery of the projects, leading multi-disciplinary teams commanding the project through implementation. The Manager, Payments has a deep understanding of customer financial services needs and how technologies and other factors influence their perspectives, experience and decision making.   The person in this position can be based in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, or Costa Rica; Guatemala, preferred.

More at http://www.accion.org.    About Center for Financial Inclusion The Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) works to advance inclusive financial services for the billions of people who currently lack the financial tools needed to improve their lives and prosper. We leverage partnerships to conduct rigorous research and test promising solutions, and then advocate for evidence-based change. CFI was founded by Accion in 2008 to serve as an independent think tank on inclusive finance.   Our role in the inclusive finance space is to identify learning gaps that could advance financial health of low-income people and undertake research and pilot testing to advance our collective understanding of what would drive progress. In areas where there is clear evidence of what works, we collaborate with partners to advocate and embed learning into implementation and practices of partners. We partner with all types of stakeholders – donors, investors, policymakers and providers – both in its research and pilot testing work as well as during its advocacy phase.   Position Summary   The Center for Financial Inclusion is an independent think tank housed at Accion that works to better serve, protect and empower clients. The Specialist position plays a strong contributing role in CFI’s research and policy influence work across four main areas of responsibility: the generation of insights, the communications of insights for impact, program management, and organizational culture. The position requires a deep familiarity of his/her team’s body of research, an emerging knowledge product pipeline, strong project and research administration, and an active commitment to CFI’s organizational culture of excellence. The ideal candidate will have the desire to contribute to research that aims to have a meaningful impact on improving lives.

More at http://www.accion.org.     About Finance: The Finance Department supports Accion’s cutting edge work in economic development, impact investing, and global financial inclusion by providing key information to the Board of Directors, Board Committees, Department and Program Managers and staff.  The professionals on the Finance team have  significant work experience managing Accion’s financial activities and providing quality support, reports, and information throughout the company.       - We do work that matters. Position Summary  The Budget and Planning Specialist works closely with the department heads, project managers and  management to develop annual and multi-year company and project budgets as well as maintaining key budget systems and tools for Accion’s budget process. The Budget Specialist oversees the financial reporting for key grants and contracts and regular reporting to budget owners and departments across the organization. S/he works closely with Operations Department Heads, Project Managers, Resource Development, Human Resources, Controller, Finance staff and CFO to ensure overall operations are within budget, to provide reporting and to develop appropriate tools. Closely coordinates activities with 2-3 members of finance team.

In addition, we work with individual impact investors, philanthropic donors, and the public sector to carry out our important and increasingly urgent mission. Building on the existing strong base of supporters and partners, we aim to further expand the team and amplify our strategic partnership priorities.   Position Summary The Senior Director of Strategic Institutional Partnerships will oversee the private and public sector fundraising team while ensuring a close collaboration with the global programs and communications team. This role reports to the Chief Development and Partnerships Officer (CDPO). This person will be responsible for strategic and long-term partnership development and fundraising outcomes across the department with specific focus on institutional partnerships and support the CDPO to leverage global awareness of and interest in Accion programs and thought leadership. The Sr Director will lead high visibility and high potential partnerships with current and prospective funders as well as manage a team of fundraisers. S/He will work closely with the CDPO to develop long term fundraising and partnership planning to maximize revenue generation and optimal positioning of Accion’s work.   Preferred location is DC or New York City.

More at http://www.accion.org.    Position Summary   The Senior Specialist, Risk and Credit Analytics supports three core areas to help drive sustainable growth for our clients: risk analysis (stability), credit analytics (insight), and growth strategies (quality). Through risk analysis we help our partners critically evaluate the risks facing an organization – both internally and externally – with an integrated risk management approach. With credit analytics, we use deep data statistical techniques to ascertain the effectiveness of product design, customer identification, underwriting, renewal, and collection policies both through traditional and digital channels. By focusing on understanding the environment and data better, we identify process improvement and product recommendations to help FSPs develop strategies to increase their efficiency, profitability and customer base. Working as part of a global, cross-functional team and guided by experienced Risk and Credit Analytics Managers, the Senior Specialists, Risk and Credit Analytics will represent Accion as an advisor to our clients and support a variety of risk and credit analytics activities and strategies for our clients. They will also support the evolution of our risk and credit analytics service offering, as well as support the development and improvement of new risk products.   The person in this position will be based in Bogota, Colombia.

They will own the enterprise systems and solutions strategy and define Accion’s technology infrastructure to provide an effective and secure operating environment for hardware, software applications and communications.  The VP, Global Technology will work at the enterprise level and with all departments in achieving efficiency goals through technology solution improvements via cloud software systems or internal system development. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in digital modernization, cyber security and SAAS solutions to help define and implement Accion’s technology to support and advance the organizational strategy.
