We seek an experienced Communications Manager who will strengthen our creativity and effectiveness in identifying and leveraging media, partner, and industry engagement opportunities to elevate the visibility of our work— ultimately supporting Accion’s mission of building a financially inclusive world.
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing focused external engagement strategies. Playing a key role in the execution of Accion’s broader communications strategy, s/he coordinates the organization’s announcements; builds and maintains relationships with media; helps secure and manage external speaking opportunities; prepares spokespeople for media and speaking opportunities; and works with counterparts at Accion’s partners on joint initiatives and announcements. This is a senior position in a dynamic, mission-driven and diverse organization.
This team member works across internal teams and with external partners. The role is based in Washington DC with occasional travel, and reports to Accion’s Senior Director of Engagement.

We’re looking for a Digital Content Manager to help tell our story.
The Digital Content Manager will play an essential role on our Communications team, working to raise Accion’s profile in the fields of impact investing, financial inclusion, and fintech. This position will work across our teams and with external partners to ensure that Accion’s digital content is thoughtfully created and promoted so it can inspire and inform key audiences about our work andsupport Accion’s mission of building a financially inclusive world.
The ideal candidate has developed and executed a multiplatform content strategy for a global organization, preferably one with a focus on startups, financial technology, or international development. Experience coordinating across teams and managing the work of freelance consultants is essential.
The position will report to the Director of Digital Communications and is based in Washington DC.
The objective of risk management is to define methodologies to ensure that the risks originated in the Financial Service Providers’ (FSP) operations and expenses associated with the credit cycle (originations, account maintenance and collections) can be predicted and are acceptable to the business. This entails developing and disseminating world-class risk management tools such as credit scoring and analytics capabilities to be implemented by the FSPs and providing guidance and support with respect to the best risk management practices. The Director– Risk and Credit Analytics will be a part of the Global Advisory Solutions team and responsible to support FSPs in the following areas:
- Efficiency & productivity:Providing advisory services to FSPs by helping them design and implement performance monitoring tools, build capacity in portfolio quality analysis to drive growth and design and implement scorecards for automation of key credit processes
- Stability & growth: Providing advisory services in the area of product design and policies (Risk acceptance criteria) and help institutions access and improve their overall risk management frameworks
- Business transition: Providing advisory services in risk impact due to changes in key business processes
- Technology integration: Assisting FSPs in; validating third-party risk scoring tools, upgrading and adjusting exiting risk assessment tools for new technology platforms and helping FSPs understand risk associated with deploying and adopting new technology

The Facilities department seeks a Part Time Office Receptionist to support its Cambridge, MA office with reception and light office management duties. She/he will report to the Office Manager, Cambridge.
This position will be part time, planned for 9:00am to 12:30pm, Mondays through Fridays.

Venture Lab is now scaling its work in partnership with global financial services companies, foundations and DFIs.
We are currently recruiting an Investment Officer, who will be based in Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Bogota or Washington DC depending on profile, and will report to the Managing Director. S/he will lead all aspects of Venture Lab’s work in Latin America, further establishing Venture Lab as the eminent seed stage fintech venture investor in the region. Responsibilities include tracking key developments in the region and developing theses on opportunities in inclusive fintech, deal sourcing, analysis/diligence, transaction closing/process management, and post-investment support to investee companies. The role will be highly entrepreneurial, spanning emerging market venture investing, portfolio management, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on cutting edge innovation in financial inclusion.
Candidates with experience living and working in Latin America, working with startups, venture capital investing, or financial inclusion and technology businesses are preferred.
This is a 3 - 6 month internship and will be based in our Cambridge, MA office. The Organizational Development Intern will add value to Accion through support of the organization’s performance and talent management processes and implementation of high-quality organizational development initiatives and programs designed to ensure excellence in attaining Accion’s mission and objectives. The Organizational Development Intern will support key organizational activities during the internship, including the performance management process, the annual employee engagement survey, and Accion’s internal coaching program.
In particular, the intern will be working on Accion’s performance management process and assisting in improvements to it.
The intern will gain exposure to organization and employee development in a global non-profit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to apply and expand their skills in data input and analysis, communications, and training and development in a non-profit Human Resources setting.

The Project Associate is a temporary assignment. This position will work within a team led by the Senior Director of Research. The candidate will be responsible for organizing the 2020 HBS-Accion Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance, in addition to supporting Financial Inclusion Week among other responsibilities.

The Accion Global Advisory Solutions team is seeking a Senior Director, Digital Transformation in Latin America, who is passionate about re-imagining the delivery of financial products to underserved customers in today’s digital society. The successful candidate will play a leadership role in driving the digital transformation of leading FSPs in Latin America in close partnership with senior management teams within these institutions. This will entail taking a lead in the conceptualization, design and consequent implementation of innovative, scalable and fit-for-purpose financial products that respond to customer needs, such as credit and savings in emerging markets. The incumbent will work with key partners in the region, specifically Bolivia and/or Peru, whilst providing support across the region where required.
Accion currently provides advisory support in South and South East Asia to partners in India and Myanmar. In this position you will have oversight for GLAS’ current portfolio of advisory projects in the region, and serve as a senior GLAS resource for digital financial services in the region. This will include bringing new and appropriate technologies and channels to our partners, as well as identifying new business opportunities for GLAS’ expertise, including the expansion of Accion’s footprint in select priority countries (such as Pakistan and Indonesia).
