More at http://www.accion.org   Position Summary   Reporting to Senior Accounting Specialist, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for maintaining all daily, monthly journal entries and month-end reconciliations, accounts payable and expenses for Accion’s Latin America, “Centro”, affiliate. She/he will also work closely with the Finance team and provide support on audit requests, monthly tax processes, and month-end closing expenses. The person in this role must be bilingual (English-Spanish).   This position will be based in Bogota, Colombia.

More at accion.org About Accion Impact Management Accion Impact Management (AIM) is a new initiative of Accion that houses Accion´s new sponsored investment vehicles (“Funds”) focused on microfinance, fintech and financial inclusion more broadly. AIM is 100% subsidiary of Accion. AIM will work closely with Accion’s digital advisory services group, Global Advisory Solutions, and Accion’s regional teams to provide strategic and operational support to our portfolio companies, with the goal of developing commercially sustainable businesses that realize social and financial returns.    Position Summary The summer associate will be an integral part of the team and will be involved in AIM’s investing activities, process management and post-investment support to investee companies. The role will be highly entrepreneurial and analytical, spanning emerging market investing, and management, with a focus on financial inclusion.   The targeted timing for this role is early June to mid-August 2023. This role will be based out of our Washington, D.C. office. Duration: 10 weeks, working approximately 35 hours per week.

Working closely with the MD and our regional managers, you will be a key supportive team member for the GLAS leadership and collaborate with co-workers who are industry experts with diverse backgrounds, being part of a team that is shaping and challenging the industry. You will work to support our global program management efforts; lead our internal communications initiatives and collaborate with other teams to support external communications; oversee board and management reporting; contribute to industry engagements and GLAS thought-leadership efforts.    Position Summary  This position reports to the Managing Director Accion's Global Advisory Solutions (GLAS) team. Accion currently provides advisory support in South and Southeast Asia to partners in India, Indonesia, and Myanmar.  In this position you will have oversight for GLAS’ current portfolio of advisory projects and serve as a senior GLAS resource for digital financial services in the region.  This will include bringing new and appropriate technologies and channels to our partners, as well as identifying new business opportunities for GLAS’ expertise, including the expansion of Accion’s footprint in select priority countries (such as Bangladesh, Philippines and Vietnam).

More at http://www.accion.org.  Position Summary  Accion’s global communications team seeks a Communications Manager to support a new long-term program focused on how digital transformation can improve the financial health and wellbeing of underserved people globally. The position is located in India and will also support Accion’s wider positioning in the region.   The Communications Manager will lead development of a positioning strategy for the program, strengthening Accion’s engagement and content efforts through content planning, writing and editing, and social media copywriting. As we work to raise Accion’s profile in the fields of impact investing, financial inclusion, fintech, and economic empowerment, they will work with teams across the investment, advisory, and research areas, to ensure that Accion’s work is shared with target audiences in a high-quality and dynamic way.   The ideal candidate has at least six years’ experience in strategic communications and content production and experience in access to finance and/or international development. We are looking for someone with project management experience, attention to detail, a knack for creating strong stakeholder relationships, and the ability to consistently deliver quality work in a professional, fast-paced environment. Someone with a strategic mindset, keen eye for detail, strong writing skills, and high creativity is essential.   The position will be based in India and will report to the Senior Manager of Digital Content in the United States.

The end users of Ovante are microentrepreneurs who can access the platform directly from their cellphone or desktop. The platform consists of 17different topics around managerial, financial, and digital skill building and guides its users through the different course contents, introducing incentives for them to finish each topic, and providing them with tools to apply concepts learned on Ovante in their day-to-day businesses.   Ovante aims to not only provide business concepts once, but to maintain an ongoing dialogue with entrepreneurs to support the evolution of their businesses and help guide them in accessing financial services from which they could benefit. Ovante help users to have easier access to credit by providing financial services providers with alternative data that can be used to complement a credit assessment and increase the chances of Ovante´s users to get a loan.   Project Summary   Engage 100,000 MSMEs to use Ovante through a partnership and colloboration approach with strategic stakeholders in Mexico.     The Consultant will support Ovante expanding globally, the launch of the platform in Mexico.

As we work to raise Accion’s profile in the fields of impact investing, financial inclusion, and fintech, this position will work across our team to ensure that Accion’s work is shared with our target audience in a high-quality and dynamic way. This contract is for approximately 15/hours per week for 6 months.   The ideal candidate has deep content writing skills and experience, including two or more years of experience in finance, fintech, startup ecosystem, and/or sustainable development.

Position Summary  The Corporate Controller oversees the accounting, grants/contracts, audit, financial statement, tax and related activities for Accion and all its related entities worldwide.  This includes extensive work with non-profit and for-profit entities as well as mission-related investments and investment funds. This position also provides the Finance and Accounting team with accounting, analytical, and management support and guidance and coordinates with relevant consultants and providers of key audit, tax and investment services. The Corporate Controller will have frequent interaction and management of approximately 12 people who are located in the U.S., Colombia, India and China.   This position will be based in Washington, D.C.

Backed by commercial and impact investors since the launch of its third-party fund in 2019, AVL has invested in more than 55 early-stage startups that operate in 30 countries worldwide.   Accion Digital Transformation Fund (ADTx) has been formed to invest in scaled microfinance or other financial institutions focused on lending to micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) and other underserved and unbanked populations within emerging markets. The goal of the fund is to provide growth capital and strategic support to portfolio companies to undergo digital transformations, so that they may increase social impact by reaching larger underserved populations, operating more efficiently, and using innovative technology to offer needs-driven products to their clients.  The fund’s investment strategy combines equity and quasi-equity instruments with active engagement as a shareholder and through board representation to create value. The fund works closely with LPs to develop co-investment opportunities.   Position Summary  Accion is currently recruiting an Operations Manager to be an integral member of the Accion Impact Management team, providing operational support to keep the high-performing team running effectively. The role will provide exposure to all aspects of the investment team’s work, including portfolio monitoring, fund operations, environmental, social and impact (ESG), compliance, risk management, impact reporting and audit support– all with a focus on microfinance and innovation in financial inclusion & fintech companies. The position is full-time in a dynamic, hard-working team, with opportunity for growth for high achievers.
